Many children first learn the value of money by receiving an allowance. The purpose is to let children learn from experience at an age when financial mistakes are not very costly.
The amount of money that parents give to their children to spend as they wish differs from family to family. Timing is another consideration. Some children get a weekly allowance. Others get a monthly allowance.
In any case, parents should make clear what, if anything, the child is expected to pay for with the money.
At first, young children may spend all of their allowance soon after they receive it. If they do this, they will learn the hard way that spending must be done within a budget. Parents are usually ad¬vised not to offer more money until the next allowance.
The object is to show young people that a budget demands choices between spending and sav¬ing. Older children may be responsible enough to save money for larger costs, like clothing or elec¬tronics.
Many people who have written on the subject of allowances say it is not a good idea to pay your child for work around the home. These jobs are a normal part of family life.
Paying children to do extra work around the house, however, can be useful. It can even pro¬vide an understanding of how a business works. Allowances give children a chance to experience the three things they can do with money. They can share it in the form of gifts or giving it to a good cause. They can spend it by buying things they want. or they can save it.

It has been reported that many tourists didn’t behave god enough in public. “some tourists also take pictures, although it is not permitted in some places. Some jump over the rails when signs say ‘No passing’” said Liang, manager of China Travel International.
There will be a nationwide campaign this month aimed at encouraging people to mind their manners when traveling abroad or in our own country. 参考范文:Dear editor,
I'm a student in Senior Three. We have made a survey--"Who do you turn to when in trouble?" Here are the results.
58% of the students will go to their classroom or friends when in trouble. They're almost of the same age, so they can talk with and understand each other easily. 30% of them trend to tell their teachers or parents, who have rich experience and love them very much, about their troubles and ask for their help. 12%of them, hating to talk with others and failing to get on well with others, would like to solve their problems all by themselves.
读写任务
In recent years, China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly, with more and more people spending their holidays by traveling. Some even go abroad. But not all of them behave well enough.
Many Chinese tourists don’t pay attention to their manners when traveling, even in foreign countries. For example, they litter, don’t wait in line or shout loudly to each other.. If the tourists don’t throw rubbish in the dustbin, we can imagine how dirty the place will be. Other travelers will feel unpleasant. In my opinion, these behaviors do not agree with the nation’s economic strength, damaging the growing international status of our country. So when we travel, we Chinese should mind our manners everywhere we travel. Don’t spit or talk loudly in public places. Wait in line and eat quietly. Don’t smoke in “No smoking” areas. Besides, don’t throw rubbish outside the dustbins or write messages on the walls.
