【命题趋向】
2008年高考试题的单项选择试题，将继续加强考查语言的运用能力，语法知识，句法知识。命题将设置生活化的语境，语境的选择试题更加生活化、更贴近普通人的生活。单选试题覆盖面广，涉及到时态、语态、非谓语动词、情态动词、动词短语辨析、冠词、连词、连接词 、代词、介词、倒装句式、短语辨析、交际用语等十多个项目。单项选择试题依然以考查动词为主，查动词考查占单选试题的60%。试题难度基本维持在5.5 。只有陕西06年的单项选择试题的迷惑性减少，难度比全国试卷稍微低一些。

【考点透视】 

从以上图表上可以看出，单选以考查动词时态、非谓语动词、动词辨析、句式结构、交际用语、冠词为住，其它项目交替考。
【例题解析】
1．注意语境：
【 例1 】 My sister was against my suggestion while my brother was ____it .（06陕西卷10）
   A .in honor of B. in memory of C in favor of D in search of
答案： C解析：本题考查介词短语的区别。根据前面的语境，“我妹妹反对我的建议，而我的弟弟却赞成我的建议。”in honor of“ 庆祝”；.in memory of “纪念” ；in favor of “支持”；.in search of “寻找”，.故选择 C。
【 例2 】
--Can I speak to Mr.Wang ,please ?(2005 卷I)

答案：C解析：考查交际用语。根据上文的语境，英语的答语是“This is ..speaking ”;省略形式是“Speaking  ” “John speaking ” “John`s here  ” “Who are you ? ” “I am Wang ”是汉语式表达。英语中不用“Who are you ?”问对方的时使用“Who is it” “Who is that speaking ? ” “Is that John speaking ?”等表达形式。故选C。
【 例3】

答案：D解析：考查时态和语态。根据窗户现在脏这个语境。可以知道到目前几个星期没打扫。并且窗户和打扫之间是被动。故选D。
2．捕捉线索:

答案：B. 解析：本题考查时态。根据题干中的last night。可以知道此句为一般过去时态，因此答案是B。
【 例2 】

答案：D 解析：mind介意、注意； glance 瞥一眼； stare at 注视；watch 观察，根据后面提示，要想copy他所做的一切，就必须仔细观察，故答案选 D.
3．句子还原：
【 例1 】

B.the boss has given John an extra job .
C. an extra job has been taken
D.John has taken an extra job
答案：D解析：本题考查过去分词。过去分词的逻辑主语一般是主句的主语。句子补全如下：As John is faced with a bill for $10,000 , John has taken an extra job.
【 例2 】
The more questions she thought of ____,the happier she was .
A.asking B asked  C to ask  D ask
答案：C 解析：考查非谓语动词。句子还原如下：She thought of more questions to ask . to ask 做补足语。
4.注意分析句子的结构：
【 例1 】 I always take something to read when I go to the doctor`s ____I have to wait.

答案：  A 解析：when 引导的状语从句修饰主句I always take something to read。而这个时间状语从句又是下个句子I have to wait.的主句。
【 例2 】

答案：  B 解析：考查分词。find somebody doing sth 发现某人正在做某事。Be found doing sth .被发现正在做某事。
5.注意惯用法：

答案：D 解析： by chance“ 偶然”固定短语。
【 例2 】
It is said that Tom is dismissed by his boss .What has become __him?
A. from  B to  C of  D x
答案：C 解析：考查固定搭配。Become of 固定搭配，常用语将来时或者完成时的疑问句中。意思是：…怎么办。….怎么样？
6．排除法的使用：
【 例1 】The doctor advised Vera strongly that she should take a holiday ,but ____didn`t help .A
A  it  B  she   C  which   D  he
答案：A 。解析：考查代词用法。医生强烈建议Vera休假，可是，医生的建议没起作用。he ; she 属于人称代词，因为不适合选择。which 是联系作用的词，but后面的句子是简单句，故which也不能选。It指医生的话，所以A正确。
【 例2 】
.She was educated at Beijing University ,___she went on to her advanced study abroad .
A.after that  B.from that  C.from which  D after which
答案：D 解析：考查定语从句。.after that  .from that 结构错误，先排除掉。句子意思：“她从北大毕业后，去国外进修”故答案选D。
7．注意标点
【 例1 】—It is a lovely day ,isn`t it ?
          --- yes,______?

答案：A 解析：因为问号，所以选择反问形式，表达肯定的概念。
Yes ,isn`t it ?比 yes, it is .语气强。
【 例2 】

答案：A. 解析：考查标点符号知识。因为分号说明两个分句是并列关系。故选 A.如果标点是逗号，就选择B. 因为句子是定语从句。Soon they came to a farmhouse ,whose roof was much higher than the others`
